Can Painting Bring Out Your Creative Genius?
It is said that creative thinking decreases almost exponentially with age for the average person. This is shocking, because those who utilize creativity are the ones we look up to as a society to push us forward. Not only this, but utilizing creative energy has been shown to positively impact us all as individuals. We at The Paint Mixer believe that everyone has innate creative abilities, and all too often these abilities become overlooked and forgotten. Our goal is to expose these abilities and encourage everyone to take on the mindset of a creative genius.
As we get older and busier, taking on more structured lives, creativity tendencies become seemingly less practical. Societal norms, established routines, and old habits make it a challenge to think outside the lines. However, by staying within your own boundaries, growth slows drastically. Whether it be personal growth, growth of an organization, or the growth of society, creative thinking and an open mindset is crucial.
While there are countless ways to harness creative energy and expand your mindset, we have chosen painting as our medium to accomplish this. Over the years, we’ve hosted those who have painted for a lifetime, those who have never painted, and everyone in between. There are a few commonalities we’ve picked up. First of all, nearly everyone who was able take on an open mindset was able to create something fantastic. Frequently, this went beyond what they believed they were ever capable of. Second, nearly all of our paint participants left with a smile on their face and a new outlook on their identity as a creator.
For us, painting goes beyond a means of offering a fun night out for our customers. Creating art brings out the best in all of us and we believe that our classes offer a creative awakening with real personal impacts. Better yet, it’s all done while having an awesome time.
